What did you say, Daud?

"Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Department Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman, who ordered the suspension of the controversial 'Anak Angkat' programme, said the entire issue was a misunderstanding."
  • The programme is run by an NGO and funded by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development and sanctioned by the state since 2009. The module could have been revised progressively to incorporate the religious elements such that only recently this problem is highlighted. Parents need to be vigilant so as not to be duped  again.

  • I have checked the FB and website of the NGO and strongly believe that it is in the business of promoting Islam. There is nothing wrong with that, but why does Sarawak (Islamic Affairs) need an NGO from Selangor to carry out the tasks.

"Daud said all religious elements in the future module of the programme would be removed."
  • So there you are. It was indeed a covert programme for a motive.
" Daud said the suspension would allow the education department to review the module of the programme to remove all suspicions about it being a covert religious conversion programme."
  • This programme should be scrapped, or else, the facilitators should be multi racial and not representing a single religion, since it is fully funded by the government. Better still let Sarawakians run this programme.
"Daud made it clear that it was the policy of the state that Islamic religious agencies in Sarawak would never become involved in attempts to convert non-Muslims into Islam. He also said to preserve the harmony and religious tolerance in the state, the Sarawak Majlis Islam kept tabs on all “dakwah” (missionary) activities in the state. He said, “Any missionary group coming into the state would be vetted and their programmes scrutinised.”
  • Can you believe that Daud was telling the truth?
  • James Masing should conduct a thorough investigation on the incidence and make known his findings to alley all our suspicion, especially for the fact that the NGO has been conducting this programme since 2009.

Motivation con job

When students attend a motivation seminar, one tends to assume that these students are guided to excel in their studies. The students from SMK Balai Ringin got more than they expected if what Tan Sri Dr. James Masing said as reported in TMI was true.

Today, YB Datuk Daud Abdul Rahman, Assistant Minister in Chief Minister's Department, also the minister for Islamic Affair said that the Sarawak Education Department has suspended the controversial 'Anak Angkat' programme in school. He denied that the programme was a covert attempt to convert Christian students to Islam.

The programme is conducted by a NGO, Organisation of Graduates and Educational Institutions Malaysia (HALUAN), based in Bangi, Selangor.

I have visited the website of this NGO and I think it is capable of doing that.

Fatimah Abdullah is the minister entrusted for education in Sarawak in addition to her portfolio as Welfare, Women and Family Development. She didn't comment on the allegation that the school principal was unaware of the programme conducted in the school. How mysterious?

What good can come out of this lie and deceit.
